Richmond Aerovac introduces new Carrier/Release film replacement for PVF
Richmond Aerovac, part of Umeco Composites Process Materials (UCPM) - a Division of Umeco plc., is pleased to introduce a new Non-Bondable PVF replacement material
With the global supply chain for PVF film becoming severely compromised in the aerospace industry, Richmond Aerovac's technology team has been hard at work to establish a group of alternate materials which can be used in a variety of applications where PVF was traditionally specified.
Richmond Aerovac is pleased to announce the introduction of a new material, P720X, which can be used in lieu of PVF as a contact material for fiber placement, automatic tape placement and drape forming applications. The material is approved through major aerospace process specifications for use in contact with traditional aerospace tape or fiber placement applications where the preform is built up on a polymer contact sheet and subsequently drape formed or cut to net shape prior to cure.
The P720X is ideal as a carrier film and barrier layer to protect the preform during processing and is designed to be discarded prior to final component cure. The 0.002" (50 micron) thickness matte white material is available in the following roll sizes and can also be slit and rewound to suit individual customer project requirements:-
60" x 500' per roll (1.52m x 152m) Net weight 37lbs (16.8kg)
72" x 500' per roll (1.83m x 152m) Net weight 44lbs (20kg)
60" x1000' per roll (1.52m x 304m) Net weight 74lbs (33.6kg)
72" x 800' per roll (1.83m x 244m) Net weight 70lbs (31.7kg)
Wider films up to 200" available upon request
